Introductions

 

Jan Gale -I have taught @ Jefferson School for 22 yrs., first grade, same room!:)  I have also taught in Omaha, District 66 and also in Bettendorf, Iowa for many years! I have been married  to my wonderful husband, Jim for 40 yrs.  He is a former teacher and now  a chiropractor in N.Platte. We have 2 daughters, Jennifer  in Lincoln, Ne. , who just graduated from Doane College 2 weeks ago. She works for USIS/United States Investigating Services. Our other  daughter, Julia,  who is married and  lives in Tarrytown , New York, works as a speech path. in Helen Hayes Hospital with acute stroke victims. We will be visiting Julia & her husband in New York this summer.

 

Claudette Wielechowski-I was born in Rome, New York and taught fifth grade in a school just south of the Canadian border for four and a half years. My husband and I moved to Nebraska in 1979. We arrived in North Platte four years ago. We have four daughters. I was a Library Director for eight years, a library system assistant administrator for six years and have been a library media specialist for eight years. I am currently at Adams Middle School.

 

Neil Hokanson currently serves as the Educational Technology Specialist for the North Platte Public Schools.  He was a "full-time" substitute teacher for one year, taught social studies at Dakota Valley High School in South Dakota for three years, and was a social studies teacher at the middle level at Star Valley Middle School in western Wyoming for ten years.  He has a BSEd from the University of South Dakota and a MSED in Instructional Technology from the University of Wyoming.  He has a wonderful wife, Dianna, who serves the district as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and they are the parents of five marvelous children:  Hannah 16, Charlie 12, Ronan 10, Nicholas 7, and Heather 5.

 

Kirk Livingston has been a Social Studies teacher for the past 22 years.  The past 20 at North Platte High School.  Before entering the teaching profession he worked in hospital managment for 4 years.  Kirk has taught U.S. History, World History, Introduction to Social Studies, Government, and is currently teaching Geography to freshmen.  He also is the NPHS Studen Council Advisor.  Kirk is happily married to Diane, and two grown children,  Jill and Kent.  Jill is currently living in Johnson City TN.  Kent is living in Indianapolis, IN and attending Butler University.

 

Leslie Wilkinson has been teaching in the NP Public school system for 12 years as a Resource Teacher.  She has taught at Osgood Elementary, Adams Middle School, and North Platte High.  She received her Bachelors Degree from UNK and her first Masters Degree from Doane College.  She will receive her School Counseling Degree from Chadron in May 2009.  Leslie has one daughter, Sydnee, who will be starting 9th grade in the fall at NPHS.

 

Jeff Henne currently teaches Industrial technology at Adams MS and has been here for three years.  Prior to coming to Adams I was  a principal at Bon Homme MS/HS in Tyndal SD.  I have also taught and coached  in Fairbury Ne, Albion Ne, Mission SD and Bayfield CO.  I have been married for 15 years and the number of children is a trick question, so I can explain that at another time if you ask.  Have a GREAT day!!
