The following are notes and resources from the Spring 2012 North Platte High School Technology Workshops...
All NPHS staff are invited to stop by, at anytime – no registration required, during the following technology workshop sessions that will be held on the following dates and times in the NPHS Media Center. We will look at various technology resources available for your classroom and discuss topics and issues related to embedding technology in the learning process. Spend a few minutes, or an hour, exploring ways to enhance your teaching skills and your student’s learning potential.

I created a video tutorial (see link below) showing how to save links in Word and then how to convert that document to pdf and then post in First Class Web Publishing and how to access on the internet. Here is how I would use VFTs...
I would do virtual field trips ALL school year long. I would especially have students interview their relatives, aquaintences, authors, the governor, the mayor, my Mom, etc. via Skype...

Using movie clips in the curriculum...
A site that ties into the very thing you may be hoping for is a math related site that shares clips called Mathematics in Movies http://www.math.harvard.edu/~knill/mathmovies/ and I wonder if there isn't something similar for science.
